Risks and Pitfalls of Guided Implant Surgery

Dr. Polido is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, with a Master’s and Doctor (PhD) degrees at the PUC University in Porto Alegre, and an OMFS Residency at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, USA. He is currently a Professor and Acting Chairman of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department and Co-Director of the Center for Implant, Esthetic and Innovative Dentistry at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is a Fellow of the International Board for Certification of Specialists in OMF Surgery, as well as a Member and Fellow of several organizations, including the ITI, IAOMS, AAOMS, AO-CMF, Academy of Osseointegration and the Osteology Foundation. He serves also as a reviewer for the main journals in OMFS and Implantology, as the IJOMS, JOMS, IJOMI and COIR. His main interests are in Implant Surgery, with a focus on Digital tools, Interdisciplinary Treatment, and in Orthognathic Surgery.
